Recount text

1. Pengertian

Teks recount adalah suatu jenis teks yang kontennya dikembalikan pada suatu peristiwa nyata atau kegiatan yang menimpa seseorang di masa lampau. Tujuan teks ini ialah untuk menceritakan kembali kisah nyata di masa lalu selain juga bertujuan untuk menghibur pembacanya.

2. Macam-macam teks recount

teks recount disesuaikan dengan tujuan dari tulisan itu sendiri. Macam-macam jenis recount text bisa dilihat di bawah ini:

Personal recount
Personal recount adalah recount text yang berfungsi menceritakan tentang pengalaman pribadi penulis.

Factual recount
Factual recount adalah recount text yang berfungsi untuk menyajikan laporan peristiwa yang benar-benar terjadi, seperti laporan percobaan ilmu pengetahuan ataupun laporan kepolisian.

Imaginative
Imaginative adalah jenis recount text yang berfungsi menyajikan sebuah cerita imaginatif. Lalu menuliskan peristiwa atau kejadian yang telah terjadi.

3. Struktur teks (generic structure).

Recount text umumnya memiliki struktur teks sebagai berikut:

Orientation: pengenalan informasi tentang tokoh, tempat, dan kapan peristiwa atau kegiatan itu terjadi di masa lampau.
Events: serangkaian peristiwa atau kegiatan yang terjadi. Biasanya diceritakan secara berurutan, misalnya “On the first day, … The second day, …” (Di hari pertama, … Di hari kedua, …).
Reorientation: akhir dari cerita dan bersifat opsional.

4. Ciri-ciri Recount Text

-Menggunakan kalimat Past Tense (lampau), seperti went, departed, would, woke up, dan lain sebagainya.
-Menggunakan adverb dan adverbial phrase untuk mengungkapkan waktu, tempat dan cara, seperti: last September, Pari Island, on then second day, dan lain sebagainya.
-Menggunakan conjunction dan time connectives guna mengurutkan peristiwa atau kejadian, seperti: and, before, then, after that, dan lain sebagainya.

A Trip To Borobudur Temple

Last week, I spent my holiday in Jogjakarta. I went to Borobudur Temple. My family and I went there early morning.

We went to Borobudur Temple by private car. I had prepared everything before we went to Jogja. While we were driving, we could see some beautiful views of mountains, forests, and waterfalls.

My family and I arrived at Borobudur Temple at 11:30 in the afternoon. There, I saw many tourists. Borobudur Temple was crowded in that holiday vacation. I could learn and practice speaking English with one of foreign tourists. His name was Jack. He was very friendly. It was my first time to speak English with foreign tourist.

We went back at 04:30 in the evening. It was a very interesting vacation.

On Wednesday, my students and I went to Yogyakarta. We stayed at Dirgahayu Hotel which is not far from Malioboro.

On Thursday, we visited the temples in Prambanan. There are three big temples, the Brahmana, Syiwa and Wisnu temples. They are really amazing. We visited only Brahmana and Syiwa temples, because Wisnu temple is being renovated.

On Friday morning we went to Yogya Kraton. We spent about two hours there. We were lucky because we were led by a smart and friendly guide. Then we continued our journey to Borobudur. We arrived there at four p.m. At 5 p.m. we heard the announcement that Borobudur gate would be closed.

In the evening we left for Jakarta by wisata bus.

Last weekend, I visited my pen pal's house. His Name is Anto. There were many activities I did there. In the morning, Anto and I had breakfast. We had traditional food. I liked it very much.

After breakfast, he took me to the garden behind his house. The garden was very big and beautiful. There is a big bird cage in the garden. There were many kinds of birds in that cage. I spent a long time feeding the birds. I also took pictures with those beautiful birds.

After visiting the bird cage, Anto and I went to the flower garden not far from his house. We took a rest and had lunch under a big tree and watch butterflies flying above colourful flowers. In the afternoon, we swam in the pool in the backyard. It was so fun. I really enjoyed my time with Anto.
